  Peter - Paul Schouwenberg (Chairman)
has a legal and business administration background and currently working as Senior Officier Regulatory Affairs and Project Manager Biobased Economy within Essent. Previously Peter-Paul was Vice-President Biofuels & Development within Essent Trading International SA in Geneva, and for more than 10 years responsible for the sourcing, trading and development of biomass (solids and liquids) on a global scale. Thanks to his leadership Essent became one of the authorities in the biomass market. He developed furthermore a unique track and trace system, which can be used worldwide in the discussions regarding the sustainability of biomass. Additionally he was one of the initiators of the standard Gafta (trading) contract for Biomass and the introduction of a forward curve for woodpellets. He was also involved in the development of several new (bio)fuels for the production of sustainable green electricity. The most important one, a worldwide primeur, was the development of fair-trade coffeehusk pellet in Brazil. For this project he received the SCAA (Specialty Coffee Association of America's) Sustainability Award.
     
Ronald Zwart (Secretary)
is director of CKade BV, an expert consulting company in the biobased economy. His activities build upon a unique multidisciplinary background in science, public government and the private sector. He was the project lead for a market analysis to support the development of a biomass commodities exchange and is one of the initiators of RBCN. Previously, he held a position as Unit Manager Sustainable Production and Market Research with the Product Board for Margarine, Fats and Oils. He was responsible for biofuels and sustainable production of oils and oilseeds commodities. Also, as policy coordinator in the ministry of environment he was responsible for biosafety policies and frequently acted as negotiator in Brussels and in international environmental agreements. He holds a masters degree in Chemical Sciences and a PhD in Biotechnology. He won the FOSFA Special Merit Award in 2009.
 
     
  Paul Tromp (treasurer)
is project- and sales manager at European Bulk Services (E.B.S.) B.V. in Rotterdam. E.B.S. B.V. is one of the largest stevedores in the Port of Rotterdam in handling all kinds of bulk cargo. Within E.B.S. Paul is responsible for all developments with regard to a bio based economy and Agri bulk. Previously Paul was active in the field of ship agencies and chartering. Paul holds a degree in economics and is currently working on his Law degree on the Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
     
Martijn Sinke
is currently working within the trading department of one of the largest energy companies in The Netherlands, Eneco. Eneco is located in Rotterdam and serving approx. 2 mln customers, Eneco's strategy is fully focused on renewable energy. Within Eneco Energy Trade Martijn is reponsible for securing Eneco's future biomass portfolio and setting up trading activities in sustainable produced biomass products. Martijn started his career at Essent Energy Trading where he was responsible for the development of new biomass products at the co-firing facilities Amer & Borsselle. Later he became jointly responsible for the National and International biomass sourcing portfolio (~ 1 mln ton/year) focusing mainly on the purchasing of wood pellets. Martijn holds a Master Degree in business science.
 
     
  Marc de Boer
is co-founder and director of BFP International, biomass commodity traders, and has a background in agri commodity trading. Additionally he has worked as a consultant and project manager for several banks and government organisations. Recently Marc was one of the initiators of the RBCN and launched a feasibility study for a Rotterdam biomass commodities exchange that resulted in a project and market analysis. Marc is also Board Member with the Dutch Platform Bio-energy.
